FNB Rates High Among Best Places
to Work in Bay Area
Many of the Bay Area companies struggling through the economic downturn of the last few years didn't focus enough on their employees. Not so with First National Bank of Northern California, according to the recent San Francisco Business Times survey rating the Best 100 Places To Work In The Bay Area.
"Family Bank" 11th in its category
We asked our employees to participate in this anonymous survey, and over 50% did (many thanks to all of them). They were asked 40 key questions evaluating their satisfaction with the workplace. As a result, we were recently informed that, based upon survey results, we were ranked number 11 in our category of medium-sized businesses with 101 to 350 employees. This put us in the top 100 over all. The other two categories were small businesses, 25 to 100 employees, and large businesses, more than 350 employees. This is a tremendous honor for us.
Our most valuable asset
As the San Francisco Business Times put it, these top 100 companies "never took their eyes off the importance of investing in their most valuable assets - the ones that walk out of the door at 5 o'clock (or later) every day….That is why we think now is a great time to shine the spotlight on companies with practices that help them attract, retain, and grow the most engaged workforces." It's very satisfying to know we have so many employees who feel a sense of loyalty and commitment to this organization. We're not perfect, and there are areas where we can improve, but that's the story of life. We continually strive to fulfill ourselves, learn-and in the process, help others. That's how we develop both personally and professionally.
